The Drake’s permanent art collection and rotating exhibits have been commissioned by local and international artists to create works that visually reflect, interpret + enhance the Devonshire experience, both indoors and out.

The art program bridges traditional metropolitan ‘white cube’ galleries and the wide open spaces with artisanal traditions that we crave from rural life. This results in a series of art installations that present contemporary concepts through various craft-based traditions. In addition to our permanent and rotating exhibits, the Drake Devonshire frequently hosts artist talks, performances and other cultural events; check the What's On section of our website for more information.

Books have long been a source of inspiration for artists. Whether it’s the written word or the pages themselves, the ideas expressed books are often referenced by contemporary artists. This show explores a range of work that is informed by the printed page from artists Alicia Nauta, Micah Lexier, Graham Gilmore, and Simon Hughes.
